![]() ![]() How thoughtful, especially for us 17 year old boys! The casino made sure to have mirrored columns behind each table to best show off the dealer’s cotton tail. Most, but not all, of the dealers were Playboy bunnies. This did not help them as patrons could not see all of the action without having to go to another floor. The Playboy was also unique in that the tall slender building had 3 floors of gaming instead of the usual one. Also, casino were not allowed to operate 24 hours a day, so they closed at 4am and didn’t reopen until 8am (though it may have been 10am as I’m getting old and suffer from CRS). I wore a jacket and tie to give them no excuse. ![]() Dress codes were posted at the entrances and security could turn you away if you were not properly attired. In those early days the boardwalk casinos were more concerned about keeping tourists dressed in bathing suits out of the casinos. I was only 17 back then, but could easily pass for 21, which allowed me to gamble on occasion. Playboy opened their casino on the Atlantic City boardwalk in 1981. ![]()
